How to Add Student To Course
Step 1: Navigate to In-App Rostering
- In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, click on the blue circular "Author Stamp" with your initials.
- In the menu that appears, click "Settings".
- Click "Rostering" in the top menu of the Settings page which loads.
Important Note: If you do not see the 'Rostering' option on your settings page, you may not have permissions to access this feature. Please contact help@educationmodified.com to get set up properly.
Step 2: Choose your own adventure
From here, there are two ways you can choose to add students to courses.
- Add the course to a specific student. This is generally the easiest workflow if you only need to edit a single student.
- Adding students to a specific course. This is generally easier if you need to add more than one student from the same course.
Instructions for both are included below, and whatever way you choose the result will be the same!
Add Course to a Specific Student
Step 1: Find the Correct Student
The easiest way to find a specific student is to search for them by name.
- Ensure that 'All' is selected in the left-hand menu. This will allow you to search through All students, rather than only students in a specific course.
- Ensure that 'Students' is selected in the Member List header. This will allow you to search through students rather than staff members.
- Click the Search Icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Member List Header.
- Start to type the student's name.
- As you type, the list will filter itself to only students who match the name you type.
- When you see the student you are looking for, click their row to expand it.
Step 2: Add the Course to the Student
- Under the 'Courses' header in the expanded student row, select the blue "+" button. This will expand and allow you to search for the course you would like to add for this student.
- Click on "Search for a course to add" and begin typing the course name.
- In the menu that appears, click on the name of the course you wish to add the student.
- If you want to add the student to multiple courses, simply click back into the course box!
- Click 'Save' to finalize the addition.
- That's it!
Add Student(s) to Specific Course
Step 1: Navigate to the Course
- On the left-hand side of the screen under "Courses", you will see a list of all active courses that currently have students and teachers enrolled.
- Click on the course you are looking to edit, this will bring you inside the course along with all students and staff enrolled
- You can verify you are in the correct course because the name will be highlighted blue on the left-hand side and the course name will appear at the top of the student list
Step 2: Add the Student(s)
- Ensure that 'Students' is highlighted in the header next to the name of the course.
- Click the 'Add Student to Course' link at the top of the student list, this will open a search bar that you can use to search for specific student names.
- Begin to type a student's name, as you type a list of matching students will appear.
- In the list, find the student you are looking for and click on their name. After a moment a green 'added' text will appear, confirming the student was added.
- If needed, you can continue to search for students and add them to the course.
- Once you are done adding students, click the grey 'X' next to the search bar to close the Add Student dialog.
- That's it!
