How to Add Staff Member to Course

Step 1: Navigate to In-App Rostering

  1. In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, click on the blue circular "Author Stamp" with your initials. 
  2. In the menu that appears, click "Settings". 
  3. Click "Rostering" in the top menu of the Settings page which loads. 

Important Note: If you do not see the 'Rostering' option on your settings page, you may not have permissions to access this feature. Please contact help@educationmodified.com to get set up properly.

Step 2: Choose your own adventure

From here, there are two ways you can choose to add staff to a course. 

  1. Add the course to a specific staff member. This is generally the easiest workflow if you only need to edit a single staff member. 
  2. Adding staff members to a specific course. This is generally easier if you need to add more than one staff member to the same course. 

Instructions for both are included below, and whatever way you choose the result will be the same! 

Add Course to a Specific Staff Member 

Step 1: Find the Correct Staff Member

The easiest way to find a specific staff member is to search for them by name. 

  1. Ensure that 'All' is selected in the left-hand menu. This will allow you to search through All staff members, rather than only staff in a specific course. 
  2. Ensure that 'Staff' is selected in the Member List header. This will allow you to search through staff members rather than students. 
  3. Click the Search Icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Member List Header. 
  4. Start to type the staff member's name. 
  5. As you type, the list will filter itself to only staff members who match the name you type. 
  6. When you see the staff member you are looking for, click their row to expand it. 

Step 2: Add the Course to the Staff Member

  1. Under the 'Courses' header in the expanded staff row, select the blue "+" button. This will expand and allow you to search for the course you would like to add for this staff member. 
  2. Click on "Search for a course to add" and begin typing the course name. 
  3. In the menu that appears, click on the name of the course you wish to add the staff member.
  4. If you want to add the staff member to multiple courses, simply click back into the course box and continue searching!
  5. Click 'Save' to finalize the addition.
  6. That's it!

Add Staff to Specific Course 

Step 1: Navigate to the Course

  1. On the left-hand side of the screen under "Courses", you will see a list of all active courses that currently have students and teachers enrolled.
  2. Click on the course you are looking to edit, this will bring you inside the course along with all students and staff enrolled in the course.
    1. You can verify you are in the correct course because the name will be highlighted blue on the left-hand side and the course name will appear at the top of the student list.

Step 2: Add the Staff Member

  1. Ensure that 'Staff' is highlighted in the header next to the name of course. 
  2. Click the 'Add Staff Member to Course' link at the top of the student list, this will open a search bar that you can use to search for specific staff member names. 
  3. Begin to type a staff member's name, as you type, a list of matching staff will appear.
  4. In the list, find the staff member you are looking for and click on their name. After a moment a green 'added' text will appear, confirming the staff member was added. 
    1. If needed, you can continue to search for staff and add them to the course. 
  5. Once you are done adding students, click the grey 'X' next to the search bar to close the Add Staff Member dialog. 
  6. Thats it!
